On 01/23/2018, due to evolving NCHS standards, T40.0 (opium) and T40.6 (other/unspecified narcotics) were added to the category “All Opioids”. This had the effect of increasing the number of “All Opioids” by an average of 14 deaths per year (~3%).
On 07/11/2018, in order to align with further evolving NCHS standards, Drug Overdoses is limited to acute poisonings only by excluding F codes from the definition. Also, subcategories of 'All Opioids' was re-worked to align with NCHS.
